PURPOSE:To input easily a specification area complex in shape by successively inputting the coordinate values of X and Y directions on the corner parts of a required area on an original surface, and setting up an area surrounded by straight lines obtained by connecting these input points as a copying specification area. CONSTITUTION:Many switches 4 are arrayed on both the sides (X and Y directions) of a platen 1 and a specification area of an original 2 is inputted through the switches 4. In the procedure, the switches (shown by black dots) corresponding to the upper and lower limits of two directions (X and Y directions) of the specified area are successively depressed, so that the area is inputted to a machine body.
