PURPOSE:To make a transaction processor discriminate the card of a customer whether it is usable or not and, at the same time, to shorten the read processing time, by reading out corresponding card reading control data from signals specifying the kind of inputted cards and selecting or controlling a circuit for reading cards. CONSTITUTION:Reading of a magnetic card is controlled by a CPU1 and reading control data corresponding to card NOs. representing the kind of cards are stored in a memory 2. Reading signals of magnetic heads MH1 and MH2 are sent to a reading circuit 16 through AND gates 13 and 14 and an OR circuit 15. A transducer 17 outputs a pulse of a frequency proportional to the card carrying speed. A key input device 3 has a display device and inputs a signal specifying the kind of a card in the CPU1 by touching the card graphic of the same kind as a customer's card. The CPU1 reads out corresponding reading control data and causes a control circuit 20 to control the reading. Therefore, whether or not a customer's card is usable can be discriminated and the card reading time can be reduced. |
