PURPOSE:To prevent a thermal recording paper from undergoing color development due to changes in environmental conditions or the like to be totally blackened, by applying a coating liquid comprising a weak basic salt to the back side of a thermal recoding paper comprising a thermal recording layer on one side of a base. CONSTITUTION:A basic coating liquid (pH 7.0-11.0) is applied to the back side of a thermal color forming layer, in a thermal recording paper in which a thermal color forming layer comprising a normally colorless or light-colored electron-donative color forming substance, a phenolic compound capable of developing the color of the color forming substance when being heated and a binder as main constituents is provided on one side of a base. The pH of the coated surface after drying is set to be 6.0-9.0. Accordingly, a desired thermal recording paper free of defects can be obtained. |
