发明名称 METHOD FOR MEASURING GAP AZIMUTH ANGLE OF MAGNETIC HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To measure a gap azimuth angle, by using a disk on which angles from the reference azimuth angle of a magnetic head gap are recorded after they are respectively changed and relatively comparing the phase shifted quantity of a magnetic head to be measured. CONSTITUTION:When a data read instruction of the sector 1 of an azimuth pattern is given, a magnetic disk controller 104 retrieves the I.D of the sector 1. A microcomputer system 105 controls a counter 103 while dummy-reading data from the controller 104 and makes sampling on about 200 of peak shift data. Similar operations are continuously performed up to the sector 16 and data are respectively stored in specific memory areas. Data processing operations in the system 105 are performed in such a way that the mean value of peak shifts is first calculated for every sector. Secondly, the polarity of the head azimuth is discriminated. Finally, the azimuth angle is calculated. At the time of azimuth calculation, absolute value subtraction is performed for the sector 2 by aiming at odd numbered sectors 1, 3, 5, 15 when the polarity is (+). The nearest sector is extracted for the sector 1 or 2. The azimuth angle is determined from the difference between sector intervals.
