PURPOSE:To reduce the size and the cost by providing a capacitor to be reset at the igniting timing with correspondence to an ignition signal and recharged immediately before starting of primary current supply for the purpose to provide the erroneous function preventing function and the lock preventing function. CONSTITUTION:The ignitor is comprised of an ignition timing signal generator 10, an ignition timing operating circuit 20, an erroneous function preventing/lock preventing circuit 80, an output amplifier 60 and an ignition coil 70. A capacitor 94 to be recharged through turning on of transistor Tr90 and turning off of Tr91 upon provision of H signal from said circuit 20 to said circuit 80 is provided. Furthermore, first comparator 90 for comparing the relatively low first voltage with the voltage at the point B to prevent erroneous operation due to the induction noise having predetermined pulse width and second comparator 95 for comparing the relatively high second voltage with the voltage at the point B to block continuous conduction of output Darlington Tr66 exceeding over predetermined time are provided.
