PURPOSE:To obtain a cyclone apparatus constituted so that the discharge efficiency of sand is enhanced and the discharge of sand from an upper discharge port is prevented, by providing a control value to a lower discharge port and providing an air inflow control valve to the upper discharge port. CONSTITUTION:A control valve 7 is preliminarily closed and gradually opened after about 2sec elapsed from the point of time when sand and water are injected into a cyclone apparatus 1. When sand and water are injected by a pump, both of them are rotated in the cyclone apparatus 1. Because the control valve 7 is closed, a lower discharge port 6 is brought to a closed state and separated water is discharged from the upper discharge port 5 and an overflow discharge port 11. Sand is flowed out from the discharge port 6 upon the opening thereof. That is, sand having high specific gravity falls along the wall of a conical part 3 to be discharged from the lower discharge port 6 while water having low specific gravity is passed through the upper discharge port 5 to be discharged from the overflow discharge port 11.
