<p>The invention relates to a thermal insulation which can be used in various forms, for example for district heat transport, the covering of hot water tanks or else for encapsulating internal-combustion engines or their silencers. The thermal insulation comprises a container, the hollow space inside which, devoid of air, contains a powdered filler in the form of small beads, preferably of amorphous silicon dioxide. The filler is stable at high temperatures, very reasonably priced and available in large quantities.</p> |
