INK JET COMPOSITION AND PRINTING METHOD

A non-aqueous ink jet composition comprises 20 to 80 wt% oleic acid, and a dye and has a surface tension greater than 35 dynes/cm. Preferably a dye solvent is also employed, for example N-methyl pyrrolidone, benzyl alcohol or benzyl ether. The preferred dye is Typophor Black. In use, the composition is jetted at a temperature in the range 52 to 63 DEG C. Average dot circularity of at least 0.7 is obtainable.
