PURPOSE:To recover useless energy of a pump and prevent its overheat when the pump is driven at a minimum flow, by coaxially connecting to the pump a turbine whose inlet is connected to a delivery pipe of the pump through its delivery bypass valve while outlet is connected to a supply water tank to the pump. CONSTITUTION:A device coaxially provides with a pump 1 a small water turbine 8 to an inlet side of which a bypass pipe 5 from a delivery pipe 3 of the pump 1 is connected through a delivery bypass valve 4. While an outlet side of the water turbine 8 is connected by a pipe 9 to the inlet of a supply water tank 6 to the pump 1. When a delivery valve 2 of the pump is fully closed or opened to a small degree, high pressure water drives the water turbine 8 in a direction restoring shaft power N of the pump by opening the bypass valve 4, and low pressure water is returned to the supply water tank 6 through the pipe 9 by the water turbine 8 recovering the energy.
