PURPOSE:To continuously remove ferromagnetic iron pieces mixed in a stock magnetite ore, by horizontally arranging electromagnets for intensive excitation to a position above a stock magnetite ore conveyor while horizontally arranging electromagnets for weak excitation to the leading part in the drive direction of a magnetic separation belt in adjacent relationship. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic separation belt 13 is continuously driven to the direction shown by the arrow X in such a state that a stock magnetite ore conveyor 10 and a recovered iron ore conveyor 11 are continuously operated in a predetermined direction. Further, a current is supplied to the exciting coils 152, 162 of electromagnets 15 for intensive excitation and electromagnets 16 for weak excitation to respectively excite yokes 151, 161. In this state, a stock material 30 being a mixture of a magnetite core 4 and ferromagnetic iron pieces 3 on the stock magnetite ore conveyor 10 is continuously separated into the magnetite ore 4 and the ferromagnetic iron pieces 3 and the former is separated and recovered onto the recovered iron ore conveyor 11 while the latter is separated and recovered in a ferromagnetic substance recovery hopper 12. |
