PURPOSE:A resin composition capable of providing a commodity having improved pollution resistance, flame retardance, a feeling of oppression, and appearance of onyx tone, obtained by blending syrup of methyl methacrylate prepolymer with a specific amount of alumina white. CONSTITUTION:80-15wt% syrup of methyl methacrylate prepolymer is blended with 20-85wt% alumina white (having preferably 1.50+ or -0.02 refractive index) shown by the formula [Al2SO4(OH)4.XH2O.2Al(OH)3]n. The syrup of prepoly mer, for example, is obtained by polymerizing a methyl methacrylate monomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator (e.g., methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, etc.) and a chain transfer agent under heating, quenching the reaction system when it reaches a desired polymerization ratio so that the polymerization is stopped.
