PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer ink carrier capable of preventing image quality of sublimation transfer type color hard copy from being deteriorated due to adhesion of dusts or the like to a thermal head, wherein a cleaning part is provided on a thermal transfer ink carrier supporting a sublimable coated layer or a cover film thereon. CONSTITUTION:A hard fine powder of silica or the like is applied, together with a resin binder such as an epoxy resin, to at least one part of the thermal transfer ink carrier 3a supporting a sublimable coated layer or a cover film thereon, e.g., to polyethylene terephthalate carrier parts 5a, 6a constituting the leading end and the trailing end of the carrier 3a, to provide the cleaning layers 5b, 6b, thereby obtaining the objective thermal transfer ink carrier. |
