Device for cleaning a dental vacuum tank

Device for cleaning a vacuum tank of a dental treatment device having a spitting dish, a water inlet line for rinsing the spitting dish and an outflow line for the spitting dish. Saliva and the like is fed to the vacuum tank by means of reduced pressure generated by a suction pump via a vacuum syringe and/or a saliva remover with a suction line connected thereto. There is provided a conduit arrangement with a branch line branching off the outflow line for the spitting dish, the branch line being connected to a suction connection of the vacuum tank. The device furthermore has a triggering device for emitting a triggering signal for cleaning the vacuum tank and a timer element which responds to the triggering signal and essentially simultaneously opens a valve situated in the water inlet line for a predetermined period of time and switches the suction pump to suction mode. In response to the triggering signal spent water is thereby sucked out of the spitting dish into the vacuum tank for a certain period of time (Fig. 1).
