PURPOSE:To obtain the titled container which is excellent in the heat resistance, pressure strength, dimensional stability and appearance by thermally forming an amorphous polyethylene terephthalate small planar body at a specified high temperature after preheated up to a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:A small planar plate preferably 20-0.1mm. thick of a crystalline thermoplastic polyester which comprises terephthalic acid accounting for preferably more than 80mol% of a dicarbonic acid component and ethylene glycol accounting for preferably more than 80mol% of a glycol component is first molded, provided that the amorphous state thereof exceeds 20% of the whole thickness. Then, the body is pressure molded at a thickness of preferably 1/4-1/1.1 after preheated at the temperature as given by the formula I (wherein, Tg represents glass transition temperature of polyethylene terephthalate, Tp1 preheating temperature and Tc1 crystalization temperature of polyethylene terephthalate). Then, it is thermally molded at the temperature as given by the formula II(wherein, Tp2 represents heating temperature and Tm melting point of polyethylene terephthalate) to obtain the desired container. |
