A disposable, ready-to-use container such as a nursing container (20) which includes a protection compartment separating the nipple (30) or other dispensing member from the infant formula or other stored substance until the time of use. The protection compartment (50) is partially defined by and is separated from the storage compartment (38) by a breakable line of securement (46) extending across the interior of the container. When the line of securement (46) is manually broken from the container-exterior, the stored infant formula (40) is allowed to enter the now open protection compartment (50) for open communication through the nipple. An enclosure chamber (62) about the nipple (30) may also be provided in combination with the protection compartment (50) to separate the nipple (30) from the environment. The enclosure chamber (62) is formed by extending the container sheets or wall around the nipple (30). The enclosure chamber (62) includes a manually breakable line of securement (64) to access the enclosure chamber (62) and the nipple (30). Alternatively to the enclosure chamber (62), a nipple cover (146) including two flexible tabs (148 and 150) interposed and secured between the container sheet material and the nipple may be provided. The tabs (148 and 150) are sealed together with a frangible seal (150) which may be opened to access the nipple.
