A snow-retaining roofing tile (1) with tile central zone (4) and top bead (5) and head and side grooves has a snow barrier which is formed on in one piece and is intended to hold snow back from sliding off the roof. In order to achieve a reliable action and good durability of the snow barrier and to obtain a snow-retaining roofing tile which can be easily produced and is of pleasing appearance in the roofing, the snow barrier comprises at least two, preferably three, retaining ribs (2, 3) which are integrally formed on the tile surface and of which preferably at least one retaining rib (3) rests on the top bead (5). <IMAGE>
