摘要 PURPOSE:To improve performance with simple construction by providing a high-pressure water chamber on each of both sides of the thrust collar of a turbine rotor, and giving said water chamber an automatic water-pressure regulating function to receive the thrust of said rotor shaft while to prevent leakage of steam. CONSTITUTION:High pressure water flowing from the feed water pipe 21 of a high pressure boiler is made flow through each orifice 25, 26 into each water chamber P1, P2 of each thrust receiving metal 23, 24, and is made low out from each opposite gap S1, S2, through a leaking water chamber 30. When the thrust collar 14 of a turbine rotor 5 moves, e.g., rightward, the opposite gap S2 becomes narrower causing water pressure in its water chamber P2 to rise, while the opposite gap S1 becomes wider causing water pressure in its water chamber P1 to decrease. In this case, each value of the thrust of rotor shaft, water pressure on collar, and pressure receiving area of the thrust receiving metal is selected so as to be proper value in their mutual relationship, to attain a condition that both values of the opposite gaps S1, S2 are not made zero. Accordingly, leakage of steam from a labyrinth packing part can be prevented while displaying the performance of a thrust bearing.
