PURPOSE:To suppress a drawing and color change on a display scope due to line erasure to minimum by deciding the color of each picture element on a line to be erased after the erasure in response to color information of a picture element within a small range around the former picture element. CONSTITUTION:A small circle of a prescribed radius around a coordinate point on a line to be erased is assumed, the coordinate of a circle of the small circle and each picture element of its inside is obtained from a coordinate calculating sesction 20 and color information as to each obtained picture element is read from a storage device 10. Then whether or not the center of the circle has the same color of the line to be erased is checked, and when the color is different, no processing is conducted and when the color is the same, whether or not the picture element satisfying the condition of the color information to the predetermined picture element exists on the small circle is discriminated. When the picture element does not meet the condition, the color of the center point is made coincident with the color existing most in the small circle, and when picture elements in pairs exist as one pair, the color of the center point is made coincident to the color. When pair picture elements exist in two pairs or over, the operator is inquired via an input device 16, the color of the center point is made coincident with the color of the reply and the line is erased without disconnecting other crossing lines. |
