SEPARATION OF SENNOSIDE COMPONENT

PURPOSE:To enable sepn. of a sennoside component by passing an aq. soln. contg. org. material as an eluate of the sennoside component through a packed bed in which the completely porous gel of a crosslinked hydrophilic polymer having no ionic functional group is packed. CONSTITUTION:The crosslinked completely porous polymer gel which contains substantially no ionic functional group and has high hydrophilicity is packed as the gel of a column as the ionic functional group which exists in said gel affects adversely separating power and long-term reproductivity. The sepn. and analysis of sennoside component are made possible by executing chromatography with an aq. org. material soln. of a desired concn. as an eluate by using the column packed with such gel.
