PURPOSE:To enhance oxygen permeability and manufacture yield in mechanical work by using a copolymer essentially consisting of monomer units of four kinds of compds. represented by specified general formulae. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed contact lens can be prepared by copolymerizing at least one kind of hydrophilic monomer of each of formulae I , II, and III, at least one kind of polyfunctional acrylate or methacrylate monomer, and a polymn. initiator in a proper vessel, forming the polymer into a round bar or block, and mechanically working it, such as cutting and grinding, etc. In formulae I , II, and III, R is H or methyl; (i) is an integer of 1-4; (j) is an integer of 1-18; (k) is an integer of 0-7; X1, X2 are each independently methyl; (l) is 0 or 1; and (n), (p) are each an integer of 1-3. |
