PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which can be produced with a simple process for production at a low cost by forming a nonmagnetic substrate of glass and joining directly the substrate to a thin magnetic metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:The thin magnetic metallic plate 2 and the nonmagnetic substrate 1 formed of glass are alternately laminated and while the laminate is kept pressurized in the lamination direction, the laminate is heated for several tens minutes at the softening point of th glass or below to obtain a laminated block 4 which is then sliced at the azimuth angle theta given thereto to form a laminated block constituting piece 5. A groove 6 for winding is formed to either of the pieces 5 and thereafter butt surfaces 5a, 5a are polished. Al2O3, SiO2 or the like to form a gap spacer 7 is deposited thereon to the thickness of about 1/2 the gap length. The glass of which the working temp. as a binding agent 3 is below the softening point of the substrate 1 is deposited to an extremely small thickness on the butt surfaces and the pieces are heated in the pressurized state by which a head block 8 is obtd. The nonmagnetic substrates 1, 1 are cut in the central position and the winding 10 is formed thereto. |
