PURPOSE:To reduce the equipment cost by forming the flat shape in the pouring basin part of a tundish to a T shape and disposing one molten steel heater to casting devices at both ends of the long-side pouring basin part. CONSTITUTION:The tundish 5 consists of the long-side pouring basin part 6 and the short-side pouring basin part and forms the T shape in the plane part. The casting devices 8 each constituted of an immersion nozzle 9 and a stopper 10 are disposed on both ends of the part 6 and the molten steel heater 15 is provided to the central part. The molten steel poured into the short-side pouring basin is heated by the heater 15 and is diverted to the right and left in the part 6 from which the molten metals are cast into a casting mold through nozzles 9, 9 of the casting devices 8, 8. Just one unit of the heater 15 is required by the above-mentioned method and therefore the equipment cost is reduced. |
