PURPOSE:To enable to obtain a sufficient developed color density even with low energy, by incorporating a metallic salt of a higher fatty acid into a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A metallic salt of a higher fatty acid is incorporated in a thermal color forming layer, in a thermal recording material comprising a colorless electron-donative dye precursor and a blocked phenol compound capable of developing the color of the dye precursor when being heated. The salt may be a calcium, cobalt, copper, nickel, zinc, tin or other metal salt of a higher fatty acid such as caproic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, arachic acid and behenic acid. The metallic salt effectively acts as a catalyst for dissociation of the blocked phenol compound, so that the phenol compound is regenerated even with low energy, and images can be recorded with sufficient developed color density. |
