PURPOSE:To provide an antilipemic agent composed mainly of a strongly basic anion exchange resin having a polymeric quaternary salt and an imidazolium salt as functional groups. CONSTITUTION:The objective antilipemic agent contains, as a main component, a strongly basic anion exchange resin which is a copolymer of (A) the polymeric quaternary salt of formula I (R1 is H, 1-17C alkyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are H or 1- 3C alkyl; R4 is H or methyl; Y<-> is halogen ion, hydroxyl ion, etc.; n is integer of >=1; Ar is group of formula II, formula III, etc.; X is halogen, group of formula IVor group of formula V) and (B) a polyfunctional epoxy compound having two or more oxirane rings, and containing an imidazolium salt as a functional group having a counter ion selected from halogen ion, hydroxyl ion, etc. The above ion exchange resin is free from ill odor, and has high adsorption activity to bile acid. The particle size of the agent is finer than 50 mesh, preferably 50- 325 mesh. |
