PURPOSE:To sort carriers and to discharge out deteriorating carriers by providing a bias roller which is charged electrostatically to the opposite bias of carriers in the developing device, and attracting carriers to the bias roll. CONSTITUTION:A developer 1 is picked up to a pickup magnetic pole 5 and conveyed upward according to the rotation of a cylinder S. The developer contacting a trimmer plate 6 is adjusted to a proper quantity and conveyed to a developing space while the excessive developer is left on a mixer plate 8. The excessive developer left on the mixer plate 8, on the other hand, is attracted to the surface of the bias roll 21 which is biased positively and deteriorating carriers are attracted weakly to the bias roll and fall in a recovery tray 22, so that they are discharged through an auger. Consequently, only normal toner returns to a blender, so the life of the developer is prolonged. |
