PURPOSE:To prolong the light emission life of a flash lamp by inhibiting light reflected light by a reflecting mirror from being fed back to the flash lamp or reducing the quantity of feedback light. CONSTITUTION:For example, parts corresponding to feedback areas (e)-(g) of five reflecting surfaces A, B, D-F of the reflecting mirror 3 are removed to form open parts 5-7, light is fed from the reflecting mirror 3 back to the flash lamp 2 at none of positions corresponding to the feedback areas (e)-(g), and the temperature rise of the lamp 2 is reduced. Ventilation between the space in the reflecting mirror 3 and the outside is carried out through the open parts 5-7, so the temperature rise of the flash lamp 2 is suppressed and the light emission life of the lamp 2 becomes long. Further, when plural holes 8 are perforated in the feedback areas (e)-(g), the feedback areas (e)-(g) decrease in area, so the quantity of light which is reflected by the feedback areas (e)-(g) and fed back to the flash lamp 2 is decreased to reduce the temperature rise of the lamp 2, thereby prolonging its light emission life. |
