PURPOSE:To attain the superimposition on picture signals to which an optional pattern and character are recorded by using a liquid crystal plate and a controller and fixing the liquid crystal plate at a position counter to the photographing lens of video camera. CONSTITUTION:A coupler 12 can be fitted and fixed to a lens 11 of a video camera, and a liquid srystal plate 12 is fixed into the coupler 12. This plate 12 contains a control part 13 having a selection switch that can apply voltage selectively to a graphic or character cell formed on the plate 12. In case the number of patterns or characters to be displayed is large, the part 13 can receive display signals from a character generator 14 connected with a cord. When a selection switch SW1, for example, is pushed, the voltage is applied to all areas of liquid crystal cells S1-S11 excepting for a liquid crystal cell S12. Thus a circular light transmitting part is formed.
