PURPOSE:To eliminate deflection of a shaft by a method wherein a long cross- flow fan is constituted by jointing a plurality of unit fans and the diameter of the fan at the central part of the long fan is made smaller while the same of the fans located at both ends of the long fan is made larger. CONSTITUTION:The cross-flow fan 12 is formed by unit fans 13-17, 14a-17a and is constituted so that the fans at both ends thereof are provided with larger diameter compared with the fan at the central part thereof. According to this method, the cross-flow fan 12 itself becomes rigid. Accordingly, reduction of clearance as before due to the deflection of the fan, which results in the change of flow amount, contact of a fan or the like, may be eliminated and the structure may become rigid in case the long cross-flow fan is constituted.
