PURPOSE:To reduce the iron loss by using a continuously cast slag contg. specified percentages of C and Si and having grains grown well in an isometric grain part at the center in the direction of the thickness and grains grown to a restricted prescribed thickness or below in the surface layer part. CONSTITUTION:A continuously cast slab is provided with a composition contg. 0.025-0.085% C, 2.5-4.5% Si and one or more kinds of precipitated and dispersed phases such as MnS, MnSe and AlN phases added to stabilize secondarily recrystallized grains while inhibiting the growth of primarily recrystallized grains. When the slab is heated, grains in an isometric grain part at the center in the direction of the thickness are actively grown, and the thickness of grains grown in the surface layer part is restricted to <=20mm.. Since the growth of isometric grains at the central part guarantees the solubilization of MnS, an electrical steel sheet with a small iron loss is obtd. at a low cost. |
