PURPOSE:To execute speed change by installing a speed change control circuit which receives a control signal from a control circuit and transmits a speed change control signal into an automatic variable transmission and judging the speed change timing on the basis of the characteristic data such as engine output characteristic data, fuel consumption characteristic data, etc. CONSTITUTION:The traveling state of a car such as the stepping-in amount (alpha) of an accelerating pedal, output-shaft torque (T0), and car speed (N0) is detected (101), and the acceleration speed NO' is calculated (102) in a driving system control circuit 4, and the demanded acceleration speed (NO' com) is calculated (103), and the necessary horse power is calculated (104), and fuel consumption rate and throttle opening-degree are calculated (105), and speed change judgement and throttle opening-degree determination are performed (106), and the speed change gear ratio (in) is inputted (107) into a speed change control circuit 3, and a throttle valve actuator 22 is driven (108), and further the next sampling instruction is executed. A speed change judging and throttle controlling circuit 45 compares the fuel consumption rate at present and in the speed change to a new gear ratio, and if the rate is superior with the new gear ratio, output to the speed change control circuit 3 is performed. |
