FOLDABLE REAR-VIEW MIRROR DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce extension of a tension spring and make a visor compact in a foldable rear-view mirror device adapted to be inclined about front and rear fulcrums against the tension spring, by moving the fulcrums in combination of guide rails with rollers. CONSTITUTION:A drive section 8 is mounted to an end of a bracket 11 of a visor (not shown) fully covering a mirror 2, and a mirror holder 2a is tiltably supported by a ball bearing portion 8a of the drive section 8. Upper and lower small rollers 12 are provided at front and rear end portions on the stay 3 side of the bracket 11. The rollers 12 are rolled on guide rails 13 formed on the stay 3 in such a manner as to be biased thereagainst by means of a tension spring 7. The guide rails 13 are arcuately formed, and are so inclined as to project at a portion near the spring 7. When the visor is largely inclined about front and rear moving fulcrums F and R, the rollers 12 may be moved along the guide rails 13 to a position across a line connecting mounting points at both ends of the spring 7.
