PURPOSE:To make fluorometric analysis of the section to be measured with high sensitivity and high accuracy by detecting the fluorescence of the section to be measured produced by irradiation of a light pulse and measuring the time interval of the photodetecting timing of a fluorescence pulse and the timing for generating the light pulse in the section to be measured. CONSTITUTION:High-speed repetitive pulse light of, for example, several tens MHz is irradiated from a laser oscillator 2 via an optical fiber 3 to a section 1 to be measured. The section 1 generates the fluorescence pulse corresponding to the property. Said pulse is transmitted via an optical fiber 4 to a photodetector 5 and is converted to an electric signal. The time interval between the irradiation timing of the pulse light irradiating the section 1 and the photodetecting timing by the photodetector 5 is determined by a time-pulse height converter 7 via a constant fraction discriminator 6. The converter 7 provides the pulse height value signal corresponding to the time difference by the operation signal of the oscillator 2 inputted via a delay circuit 8 and the fluorescence pulse signal. The time information detected by the converter 7 is conducted to a multi-channel pulse height analyzer 9 by which the information is converted to pulse height information. Said information is outputted from a recorder 10.
