PURPOSE:To obtain sintered ore having high reducibility without lowering the productivity by feeding iron ores having inferior reducibility after sintering so as to form an upper layer on starting materials to be sintered on a pallet. CONSTITUTION:Among iron ores are starting materials iron ores which give sintered ore having inferior reducibility by sintering are mixed and granulated. The other iron ores having high reducibility, secondary starting materials, miscellaneous starting materials and fuel and mixed, granulated, and fed onto the pallet of a sintering apparatus. Said iron ore granules having inferior reducibility are then fed so as to form an upper layer on the granules on the pallet. The upper layer gives return ore at a high rate and the return ore is sintered again, so sintered ore having high reducibility is obtd.
