PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a foil journal bearing by engaging cylindrical members in holes which are formed through a bearing bush and disposing pins each of which has thin plate and a foil attached thereto, at the internal end of the bearing bush as straightly movable in the central holes of the cylindrical members. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 1 is held by a gas layer 7 defined between a foil 2 of which one end is stuck to one of thin plates 3 and the rotary shaft 1. The thin plates 3 each consisting of flat plates or arc plates are stuck to pins 4 at the approximately middle thereof. The pins 4 each are so engaged in the inner hole parts of the cylindrical members engaged in the bearing bush 8, as to be moved straightly in said holes. The cylindrical members 5 each are mounted in engagement in a plurality of through-holes 9 which are formed in the bearing bush 8. Each spring 6 which surrounds the pin 4 is disposed between the cylindrical member 5 and the thin plate 3. |
