PURPOSE:To obtain a large mechanical displacement with a small electric displacement, by fixing at least one vibration stopping member to at least one main surface of a piezoelectric body and/or a vibrating plate in the direction where the displacement is obtained on the main surface. CONSTITUTION:In a piezoelectric bimorph vibrator 10, full surfaces 5 and 6 are formed on both main surfaces of piezoelectric porcelain 3 in a piezoelectric body 2, which is stuck to one surface of a vibrating plate 4 having a length (l), a width (w) and a thickness t1. The vibrator has a length (l), a width (w) and a thickness (t). In order to increase the displacement in the direction of a length (x), a square-rod shaped vibration stopping members 7, which have a cross section of t2Xl2 and a width of 22, are bonded on the outer main surface of the piezoelectric body 2 at an equal interval. The longitudinal direction of the four members are aligned with the direction of the width (w) of the vibrator. It is desirable that the length w2 of the vibration stopping member is at least 1/3 or more the width (w) of the piezoelectric body and that the length l2 of the cross section of the piezoelectric body is as small as possible. It is also desired that the length t2 of the cross section in the thickness direction is 5 times or less the thickness (t+t1) of the vibrator. |
