PURPOSE:To obtain a novel actuator which can operate a movable element by combining a magnet integrated with a spin rearraying material and a permanent magnet, and the movable element, and repeatedly heating and cooling the material. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 34 in which a permanent magnet 31 and a spin rearraying material 33 are bonded is secured to the central depth of a U-shaped sectional yoke 31. A cover 35 which has a through hole is secured to the open end side of the central groove, and an arm 36 is mounted on the yoke 31. A movable core 37 is inserted into the groove of the yoke 31 via the hole, and a spring 39 is provided between a stopper 38 and the cover 35. When infrared ray is emitted to the material 31 to heat it, the spins are aligned in the same direction as the poles of the permanent magnet 32, and a large magnetic field is applied to the core 37. Thus, the attracting force increases, and the core 37 is attracted rightward of the drawing. Then, when cooled, the attracting force is weakened so that the core 37 is returned to the original position by a spring 39. The core 37 is reciprocated by the heating and the cooling. |
