PURPOSE:To use a microinstruction for 4-byte division for 8-byte division by using hardware for 4-byte division in common as the one for 8-byte division in a microprogram type computer. CONSTITUTION:Spill-out gamma from a shifting circuit 5 is directly sent to a bit 31 of an AL register through a signal line and also sent to a latch Z. Bit data in the latch Z are also sent to a bit 31 of a BU register. If the bit data in a storage means CTL are logic ''1'' when a microinstruction ND1 is read out in case of the execution of n-byte division, operation based upon the microinstruction ND1 is executed. When the bit data in the storage means CTL are logic ''0'' in case of the execution of 2n-byte division, the operation based upon the microinstruction ND1 is executed and then a microinstruction ND2 is read out to execute operation based upon the microinstruction ND2. |
