PURPOSE:To obtain prescribed gradation of a picture independently of an input device by providing plural signal converting stages converting a gradation picture signal into a light intensity control signal and selecting a signal converting means in response to the picture. CONSTITUTION:A picture data is inputted from input devices 1, 2 to picture managing CPU3 and stored in a storage device 4. A required picture processing is attained by a picture processing terminal 5 at the same time. The processed picture data is outputted to a picture terminal 6 for observation and a recorder 7. The recorder 7 has plural signal converting means converting the inputted gradation picture data into the light intensity control signal and a signal converting means is selected in response to the input device 1, 2. Thus, the picture having prescribed gradation is obtained independently of the input device.
