PURPOSE:To provide the titled burner capable of preventing continuous combustion and constantly securing excellent combustibility by applying an AC power source voltage to a flame rod, and comparing the change in output of the flame rod with the change in the AC power source voltage to discriminate between normal pulse combustion and continuous combustion. CONSTITUTION:In a combustion chamber 3, air supplied from an air pipe 1 is mixed with a fuel supplied from a gas pipe 4. The thus obtained gaseous mixture explodes by the sparks of an ignition plug 8, and a pulse combustion is started. Upon this occasion, the change in output of the flame rod 9 with the change in the AC power source voltage. If the output of the flame rod 9 is constantly obtained in synchronism with the half wave of the AC power source voltage, it is decided to be continuous combustion, and a control part 10 closes an electromagnetic switching valve 5 to stop the operation of the burner. If it is decided to be normal pulse combustion, the pulse combustion is thereafter continued by a suction operation due to the negative pressure at the time of exhaustion, a fuel absorptive operation and an igniting operation due to heat of the combustion gas partly fed back from a tail pipe 7 to the combustion chamber 3. |
