<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the formation and registration of a foreign character dictionary for reading an optical character reader (OCR) and a displaying foreign character pattern by writing a foreign character for registration in a foreign character registering sheet and reading out the sheet by the OCR. CONSTITUTION:A user writes registering foreign characters previously in the foreign character registering sheet 20 and makes the OCR10 read out the sheet 20. The displaying foreign character pattern is formed on the basis of a foreign character pattern outputted from the OCR10 to a control device 11. The user checks and corrects the character pattern by operating an I/O device 12 and then stores the corrected result in a displaying foreign character memory 17. At the formation of the foregin character dictionary, a dictionary formation part 14 forms a corresponding foreign character dictionary on the basis of the features of the character pattern extracted from the control device 11 and a post processing word dictionary 18 stores the formed foregin character dictionary.</p> |
