PURPOSE:To permit automatic chamfering and improve working accuracy by pressing the work in a work holding device onto a grindstone and carrying-out chamfering and returning the work to the original position by a hand and a cylinder after a set time lapses. CONSTITUTION:Works 10 are set in superposed state onto work holding devices 3 and 3a, and a grindstone 2 is revolved by driving a motor 1, and a hand 5 is advanced in X1 direction by a prescribed distance by driving a cylinder 6, and the work 10 positioned in the lowermost part of the work holding device 3 is pushed onto the grindstone 2 for a prescribed time, and the edge surface is chamferred. After a set time lapses, the hand 5 is closed to catch the work 10, and the cylinder 6 is driven to retreat the hand 5 in X2 direction and to return the hand to the original position. Then, the hand 5 is opened, and the work 10 is loaded onto a conveyor 10. Thus, a work can be chamferred without using manhour, and the working accuracy can be improved.
