PURPOSE:To provide a molded resin article having excellent heat resistance and abrasion resistance, by applying a cured film of a resin consisting of hydrolyzed alkyltrialkoxysilane, etc. to the surface of a molded article composed of a methacrylimide unit and an ethylenic monomer unit. CONSTITUTION:(A) The surface of a molded resin article composed of (i) >=2 (wt)%, preferably >=10% methacrylimide structural unit of formula prepared by the thermal condensation reaction of preferably polymethyl methacrylate with an imidation agent (e.g. urea) in an inert gas atmosphere in an autoclave at >=100 deg.C and (ii) <=98% ethylenic monomer unit is coated with (B) a crosslinkable and curable resin material composed of hydrolyzed tetraalkoxysilane and/or alkyltrialkoxysilane and/or dialkyl-dialkoxysilane (preferably alkyltrialkoxysilane), and the coating film is cured with an actinic radiation.
