PURPOSE:To prepare bacteriohemagglutinin MHA No.101 useful as a drug, by culturing bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas genus and capable of producing the bacteriohemagglutinin MHA No.101. CONSTITUTION:Bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas genus and capable of producing bacteriohemagglutinin HMA No.101, e.g. Pseudomonas sp. No.101, are inoculated in a liquid medium containing an organic nitrogen source as major constituent, and cultured under an aerobic condition, at about 20-37 deg.C for about 24 hours to accumulate the objective bacteriohemagglutinin MHA No.101 in the medium. After removing the bacterial cells from the medium, the filtrate is slated out with ammonium sulfate, and the precipitate is dissolved in a phosphate buffer solution. The desired bacteriohemagglutinin MHA No.101 is obtained by purifying the solution with DEAE-Sephadex A-50. |
