PURPOSE:To prevent airtight leakage by thinning the end of a stainless steel in the stage of connecting parts to be connected by welding to the stainless steel side end of a friction press-welded joint consisting of Al and the stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:The connecting end 23 on the stainless steel side of the joint 21 formed by friction press-welding of Al 21a and stainless steel 21b in a press- weld zone 22 is thinned on the inside peripheral side by machining and is further subjected to bending toward the outside of the diameter to form a flared shape. Said end is then connected by heliarc welding (weld zone 24) to the end of the part to be connected (metallic bellows). Even if there is a ground flaw 13 owing to a non-metallic material along the axial direction of the connected end, the flaw 13 is prevented from opening to both of the inside and outside by the above-mentioned constitution and therefore the airtight leakage is obviated and quality is improved. |
