PURPOSE:To improve the direct steering feeling thus to improve the maneuverability by blocking motion of a control valve through a reaction mechanism under low steering load. CONSTITUTION:Upon operation of steering wheel by a driver to apply the steering load onto the gearing section between a pinion 10 and a rack shaft 6, load pressure component is produced in the axial direction of pinion gear 10 because of helical pinion gear. But since a ball 103 is pressed through a spring 104 into V-groove 101 of the shaft 10, the pinion gear 10 will not move axially if the component load pressure is lower than predetermined level. Consequently, the control valve 4 interlocked with the shaft 10 will not function to transmit the steering resistance of a steering wheel directly to the steering wheel thus to improve the direct steering feeling. |
