摘要 PURPOSE:To ensure that an ink is efficiently raised to a slit with less energy, by using conductor electrodes obtained by jointing an insulating plate to the lower end of a conductor plate. CONSTITUTION:With a voltage impressed between the conductor electrodes 16 by a power source 21, an electric field is generated in the slit 15 at the part of the conductor plates 19. By a coulomb force exerted by the electric field, a dielectric ink 13 making contact with the conductor electrodes 16 is attracted and moved upward, and is supplied to the tips of needles 12. When a voltage is selectively impressed between the needles 12 and a counter electrode by a signal electrode, the ink 13 retained at the tips of the needles 12 is flied by the coulomb force, and is transferred onto a recording paper, thereby printing. In this case, the voltage is impressed on the electrodes 16 at only the conductor plates 19. Namely, in the slit 15 at the part of the insulating plates 20, the ink 13 is moved upward by capillarity, so that there is no need for coulomb forces at this part. Accordingly, it is unnecessary to pass useless electric currents.
