PURPOSE:To perform safe and efficient inching of a wire according to the wire feed rate in wire inching by controlling automatically a wire feed speed according to the preliminarily set program in accordance with the wire feed rate in wire inching. CONSTITUTION:The wire feed speeds VR1-3 in the initial, middle and late periods corresponding to the wire feed rate are outputted from an inching speed setter 2 and are automatically changed by the change-over according to the preset speed program with timers 3, 4 and a flip-flop circuit 5 after a wire inching command switch 1 is closed in an arc welding machine which feeds the welding wire 15 to a welding torch 18 via a wire feed route 17 by driving of an electric motor 12. The speed change signal thereof controls the speed of said motor 12 via an amplifier 11. A welding start switch 21 is closed after the end of inching, by which the wire feed speed is controlled by the speed VR4 prior to arc generation and the stationary speed VR5 by the speed set value of a wire feed speed setter 20 in the stage of welding separate from inching. |
