PRODUCTION OF CLAD CYLINDRICAL BODY

PURPOSE:To improve operability and to reduce cost by bringing a plate material for cladding formed into a cylindrical shape into tight contact with a cylindrical body and welding the ends of the plate material. CONSTITUTION:A cladding plate 1 is manufactured to the size slightly smaller than a body plate 2 made of a steel plate and the end faces are preliminarily superposed on each other in the case of cladding said plate to the inside surface of the plate 2. The cladding plate is inserted to the inside of the body plate and is then forcibly expanded by a hydraulic jack 3, etc. so as to contact tightly with the body plate and thereafter the groove is welded. The vessel and pipe consisting of the clad body plate are thus manufactured without using a clad steel plate (explosively welded, press-welded or welded).
