PURPOSE:To detect the number of pieces in a short time, by converting the total weight into a digital signal, whose resolution is a basic unit weight, and multiplying the output by the specified number of pieces of bodies having the basic unit weight. CONSTITUTION:The total weight of bodies, whose number is unknown, is measured by a weight measuring device 11. The total weight is compared with the amplified output from an amplifier circuit 15 by a comparator circuit 16. The amplifier circuit 15 amplifies the output of a basic unit-weight setting circuit 12, which outputs the electric signal, with the weight of the specified number of bodies as the basic unit weight. The output of the comparator circuit 16 is inputted to a register 13. The output value of the register 13 is multiplied by the specified number of the bodies having the basic unit weight by a multiplier circuit 18. Thus the number of the bodies measured by the weight measuring device 11 is detected.
