PURPOSE:To prepare highly deashed granulated coal with a good yield, by performing granulation of a mixt. of coal/water slurry and an oil in high-speed mixing tanks and mixing of granulated coal in low-speed mixing tanks at specified temps. CONSTITUTION:A coal/water slurry and an oil 13 which acts as binder are fed into a high-speed mixing tank 1. After mixing in high-speed mixing tanks 1 and 2, the coal/water slurry is passed through low-speed mixing tanks 3, 4 and 5. Coal particles are granulated and deashed in the mixing tanks 1 and 2 and grow in the low-speed mixing tanks 3, 4 and 5. Cooling water 14 is poured into the low-speed mixing tanks 4 and 5 by a pump 11 to cool formed granulated coal. The granulated coal in water is sent to a shaking screen 6 for separation of water. Themps. of coal/water slurry and oil in the high-speed mixing tanks 1 and 2 are controlled to 40 deg.C or higher and the viscosity of the oil in and after the low-speed mixing tank 2 is controlled to 80cP or higher.
